Individuals with liver problems. Studies show green tea extracts may cause liver damage if taken in excess (6).
Individuals with digestive issues. Green tea may cause problems in people with a sensitive stomach. It may cause stomach upset, nausea, abdominal pain, and dizziness (7). Individuals with heart problems, renal diseases, and thyroid issues should exercise care and consult with their doctor.
