We must have come across a zillion articles that give the men a cheat-sheet about how a woman behaves, what her thinking pattern is like, how to handle her emotions, etc. But hey! What about all the men out there? They too, just like the women, can act moody, arrogant, stubborn, loving, and caring, all at the same time, right? Sometimes, in a marriage, it can be really challenging to interpret your spouse’s words and behavior rightly. Suppose you are fighting with your husband and he utters the words, “Okay, I’m sick and tired of this!” What would you think? You would immediately think that your husband is trying to say that he’s sick and tired of you, this marriage, and this whole bond altogether, right? But, have you wondered if all he was trying to say is that he’s fed up with the fight and nothing more or less? It can be a possibility, right? But, then again, yes, you cannot be sure because your husband is, after all, a guy, and guys, in general, do act strange!

Most of the men out there aren’t really good at opening up and they just don’t know how to translate their inner thoughts into words. The mere thought of doing this finds many of them in a soup with twisted squirmed words (haha). So, dear wifeys, here’s a short breakdown of what your husband actually means when he says what he is saying. Have a look!

What He Says: “I’m not angry.”

What He Actually Means: At times, our husbands just don’t want us to be bothered because of any kind of tension. All they want to do is get angry, handle their anger on their own, solve the problem on their own, and then get back to us. We must’ve noticed this with our brothers and dads as well. While their face sure does look like a hot red balloon that can burst at any given moment, they’d still answer to our “are you angry right now?” question with “I’m not.” Your husband does this too because he doesn’t want you to get upset about it. He wants to handle it on his own and gets done with anger in a few minutes.

Letting you know about the cause of his anger might make his anger last a few more minutes, right? We’re sure you got the gist now.

What He Says: “You are overreacting.”

What He Actually Means: This is one of the smart moves that husbands always make. There are times when they are completely at fault for the mess that you both, as a couple have landed yourselves in. But the mister of yours might never want to admit it. Much to your surprise, he might play the blame game a bit more smartly by pointing out that your reactions are over the top and it’s not such a big thing for you to react that way. It’s his trick of diverting your focus. So whenever he’s saying this, assess the situation for a moment and then choose your words wisely.

What He Says:“It’s a guy’s night.”

What He Actually Means: When he says this, it just means one thing — he doesn’t want you to come along because obviously, he wants to spend some bro-time with his gang of buddies. Don’t even argue at this point, let him go and enjoy his life, because you both need your space. Even you could probably have a sleepover with your girls at your place or one of theirs.

What He Says: “Who said you’re fat? You’re not.”

What He Actually Means: These words clearly mean that you’re with the right man! He just loves you for what you are. He perceives even your flaws as the cutest features. And if he’s telling you this then it shows that you mean the world to him.

What He Says: “Noo, that’s not what I was trying to say.”

What He Actually Means: Men say this when you’ve misinterpreted their words into something that they never even thought of uttering. When you misunderstand them their first reflex is to panic and then to defend themselves. You’ll probably watch them go out of their way to find words to rephrase their words so that you understand what they wanted to actually tell you. Usually, they’ll ask you to give them a minute to do all the re-work.

What He Says: “You look stunning without makeup.”

What He Actually Means: It can mean two things here — he must be truly complementing your beauty. And the other could be his idea to trick you into skipping makeup so that you guys can reach the party on time and not miss anything.
